Passion, commitment and drive are the 3 things that motivate me to do things. I am very passionate about how I perform in school, volleyball, and hula. These are the 3 things that are very important to me, and the 3 things, besides my family, that motivate me to work hard and do well. Volleyball is not just a sport to me. It is something that has helped me learn about who I am, who I want to become and also taught me a lot of life skills. I've learned that if I want to do well in something, I need to work hard. I am very committed to always working my hardest in the classroom and on the court. I strive to be the best student-athlete that I can be. I set goals for myself and I try my best to accomplish them. For example, during the 1st semester of high school, I didn't do as well as I wanted to academically in my classes. I expect myself to perform at my best and try my best at all times. It was my first year at a private high school. Coming to a private high school from a public intermediate school was tough, tougher than I thought it was going to be. After the 1st semester, I set a goal for myself to get straight A's, get involved in school activities and work harder in volleyball. I knew I could do it, and I knew it was going to be a lot of hard work, but I was committed to achieving my goal. I finished my 9th grade school year with straight A's. I am going to continue to work hard in the classroom and on the court. I hope to have more opportunities to travel with my club volleyball team to compete in tournaments. Now that my junior year of high school is done, I am focused on making myself stronger, faster and consistent. I have been doing morning workouts in the weight room 3 times a week and doing cardio work 2 days a week. My goal is to make the starting line-up my senior year on the varsity volleyball team. I am someone who does not give up. I know that I will continue to face challenges and adversities, but my motto is "undeniable", be the best person that I can be, do the best that I can in my studies and in volleyball so that I will be a positive contributor to my team and my community.
