I was one of two freshmen to try out for my high school varsity team and make it. My high school coach, Sharon Peterson, has been coaching for over 50 years, was a women’s volleyball Olympian, and earned seven Collegiate National Championship titles. She not only stresses techniques, she also toughens our minds. My club coach is the head coach of my high school’s rival team. He pushes me to be better, knowing that I will one day be the reason that my high school team beats his team in the championship game. My academics are kept all A's all year even though I commute an hour each way three times a week during club season, and I leave the high school campus at 3pm and don’t return until after 11PM from away games during school season. I am still managing to stay on the Dean’s List, I have lettered in three varsity sports, and I am the team captain for my high school volleyball team. I know I have what it takes to make a positive difference for your team.
