My name is Taylor Sakamoto. I am 5' 2" and I plan to play as a libero in college. I've been very compassionate about volleyball because of the intensity and aggressiveness of the game. These aspects make me want to get better each time I go on the court. Libero is my primary position and my secondary position is defensive specialist. I have played club volleyball for 3 years. In 2011, I sat out for a season due to an ACL/MCL injury. I spent 9 months recovering and working with the a Physcial trainer. Physical therapy requires a lot of patient and hard work. You won't see results unless you work hard. Through this proccess, I discovered that working out and exercising plays an important role in preventing another injury. I want to major in social sciences and hope to become a health/medical social worker. I am currently a junior at Mid-Pacific Institute located in Manoa, Hawaii. Outside of school, I volunteer at Kalihi Union Church in Pre-school. I enjoy working with pre-schoolers because it teaches me to be patient and compassionate.
