Hello,
I am Erin Perry, I am currently a senior at Farrington High School. I am looking to pursue my dream of being in the health field as a physical therapist, as well as pursuing my volleyball career in college. I am a starting setter for Farrington High Schools' varsity volleyball team, which I have been on since my junior year in high school. During my sophomore year in high school I was also the starting setter for the junior varstiy team, as well as being captain. In my junior year, my high school team took third in the division 1 OIA conference, as I was playing as a second string setter but still did get a lot of playing time throughout the season.
I have played club volleyball for about three years now at Laule'a Volleyball Club. I have played on the 16 and under team for 2 years, and on the 17 and under this past season. I played as an outside hitter, middle hitter, opposite hitter, setter, and as well as a defensive specialist while playing in this club. I was able to contribute and move around to different postitions as long as it was the best interests of the coaches as well as the team with no complaints. I believe every player should be able to play every postition on the court in case of emergency. I have been the starting setter for the past two years and also participated in the 18 and under team in their regional tournament my second year in club as an outside hitter when needed. This year I will be changing to Quicksets Volleyball Club on the 18 and under team as a preffered setter, but I will not complain if put in a different postition because it will be best for the team.
In my opinion volleyball is not something I just do, it is a sport that I have the passion for and will love regardless of which position I am playing. I want college coaches to look at me and say "She will definetley contribute to my team, and I want her!" I want to be able to show college coaches that I am serious about playing college volleyball and I will be a strong team and individual player who is vocal both on and off the court supporting the team and giving feedback to the other players when needed. I have a strong mindset to play college volleyball and will not give up on my dreams in the educational field also.
Mahalo,
Erin Kailani Perry
