Personal Statement

I first started playing volleyball in 7th grade.  The program didn’t have conventional volleyball and was not competitive.  My sister played volleyball for our high school team, so I always went to the games and decided that once I got to high school I would try out for the team as well. My freshman year, I was a starting JV player and captain of the JV team.  I also started playing club volleyball for Husky Juniors.  I improved greatly that year, and when the regular season came around my sophomore year, I became the starting varsity setter.  I was honored to receive the Most Improved Player award that year.
As a Junior, my high school season went great. I received the honor of being a captain for my varsity team, and helped lead my team to the state semifinals.  I also broke my schools Single Season Assist record with 618, and earned MaxPreps Player of the Match during my season.
My main strength on the court is setting.  I am able to successfully run a 5-1 and a 6-2 offense, and a variety of sets, including shoots, ones, and slides.  I use speed, agility, and court awareness get to the ball and make a good play.
I would love to play volleyball in college.  Athletics have always been a huge part of my life, and I would like to take myself to the next level and play volleyball in college.  I always work hard and give my best effort in games and in practice.  I always listen to my coaches and teammates to try to better my play.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
