My name is Mikayla Renteria and I'm a senior at El Diamante High School. I'm 5'7", weigh 130 pounds, and play DS, Libero, and Outside Hitter playing all six rotations. I just finished my El Diamante senior varsity volleyball season and was honored by making 2016's All-Tulare County Volleyball Team, First Team All-League for West Yosemite League, and received El Diamante's Iron Miner Best Offensive & Defensive Player Award. I’m playing travel volleyball for Whiplash’s 18U-1, and currently trying out for Northern California’s USA HP 2017 Volleyball Team.
My goals are to excel in both academics and athletics graduating with lifetime California Scholarship Federations Honors and play for a competitive collegiate volleyball team. I'm currently an honors student with a 3.7 GPA. One of my favorite volleyball experiences was playing last summer on Northern California's USA High Performance 2016 Volleyball Team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. I was co-captain for my positive leadership skills and attitude. We played USA teams from all over the United States. I love playing volleyball and enjoy the camaraderie encouraging each other during games, practices, and off the court. My coaches say my dedication, integrity, and versatility as a player will help me to be an asset to my team. I work hard to be the best that I can be and spend extra time working on my volleyball skills including attending several college volleyball camps at Mick Haley's University Southern California and Fresno Pacific University in California, NCSA combines, private lessons, and gym training.
My goals are to play collegiate volleyball and I am open to playing in any division for a competitive volleyball team. I would like a college that will challenge and support me to reach my full potential and academic goals of graduating with my BA, Teaching Credential to be a special education high school teacher and high school volleyball coach. I have been preparing myself for college. Playing volleyball I have learned that with trust, cooperation, and encouragement among teammates, victory can be achieved. While my passion is volleyball, I also love coaching and working with children with special needs. Mentoring others as a high school tutor and working with special education students is enjoyable and rewarding. My hobbies and interest are playing volleyball year round, school, coaching, exercising, going to the beach, and my church youth group. Both my parents are educators and have taught me to respect not only others, but myself as well to get an education and to do what I love playing volleyball! I will work hard on and off the court for you to be the best athlete and student I can be. Thank you for your time and I am ready to suit up and do work.
Thank you,
Mikayla Renteria
