In volleyball, I was the Varsity Team Captain two years making the CIF Championships both years and winning my senior year as well as making it into the State final round. Personally, I was honored with many awards including senior year in 2015 being named All American 2nd Team, CIF Player of the Year, All League Best Offensive Player, NCSAA Far West Super Region Team, CIF Southern Section Award, All League 1st Team, SoCal Prep Legends Player of the Week, All Star All League Game, Desert Classic Varsity Tournament 1st Team, as well as Junior year in 2014 All League Most Valuable Player, 1st Team All League, All Team Coach's MVP award and 2013 2nd Team All League. Also, on my club teams, I am a starter playing all the way around and a reliable force my coaches will confirm. I work hard giving it my all and I have been told that I am very coachable. You will see from my statistics year to year that I continue to progress so be assured that I will listen and do my best to apply the lessons. My two years as Varsity Captain have taught me how to be a positive and encouraging force on the court which I will bring to my college team.
I am looking for a faith-based college where I can earn my nursing BSN degree to become an RN. I am just as committed to finding a college where I can continue playing volleyball. I just love the sport as well as being involved with a team. My academics are high, but I have proven myself on the volleyball court as well. If I am given the opportunity to play for your team, you can be assured I can meet all expectations athletically and academically. There are several reasons my experiences set me apart from many other individuals vying for a spot on your team.
First, my coaches’ recognitions, captain title, and league honors prove that I stand out amongst others on the court. I have also been fortunate enough to be involved with a school which has won the top award for sportsmanship year after year holding us accountable not just for our ability on the court, but our behavior on and off the court as well. So, I would represent your school well in both these areas throughout my college years. I have played volleyball year around between school and club so it has been a big part of my life and I am well aware of the commitment team sports requires. I know how to balance my school work, school leadership obligations, and team responsibilities well.
Second, I have exemplary grades with over a 4.3 GPA, placing me high in my class. I have taken advantage of the more advanced class offerings at my school and risen to the challenge always keeping my GPA over a 4.0 and well exceeding that for quite some time. I am a member of the National Honors Society as well and I enjoy the gatherings and events that brings with it. I am different from other strong students, however, because I am well balanced. I have leadership experience off the court as well. I am the elected Senior Class President after being Junior Class Representative last year. Also, I am an active member of my school's student leadership committee, ASB, as well as an Alpha Leader in charge of a small group of both upper and lower classmates for events like rallies during the school year. In addition, I have chosen to participate in the missions training group two years in a row at school which culminated in short-term missions trips. I have also done some part-time tutoring work for other students in math. Clearly, I enjoy staying busy and working in groups and am grateful for the many opportunities to date.
Third, beyond school I contribute as well, so far having over 65 hours of community service both at my Christian church, which I have attended for over 13 years, and within my community. My faith is very important to me and I am thankful to have teachers at my school who are mentors in this area as well. Clearly, I am a person who enjoys being involved. My commitments combined with year-around club volleyball have proven that I can manage many demands responsibly which speaks to my character.
As for my future goals, I excel in math and science and am currently planning for a career in the medical field as I am fascinated by the workings of the human body. At this time, I intend on focusing my college years on earning my BSN. The surgical or orthopedics specialty area may one day be the right fit for me. I would also like to include health service management or similar management classes in my college course load to best prepare for future opportunities later on in my career.
I hope you agree I would be an asset on your volleyball team and at your college in general. I am excited about my future collegiate experience and look forward to finding the right school where we can benefit each other for years to come.
