Shainah Gist '12 Recruiting Profile

I am 5’5” senior setter from Camarillo, CA. I have 5 years of club experience with Slammers Volleyball Club and Oaks Volleyball Club. I have played on my high schools varsity team all 4 years and have been captain for the last 3. I have been Frontier League MVP; I was named All-CIF-Southern Section Girls’ Volleyball Team, and Marlborough All Tournament Team. I am an outstanding student with a 4.0 and am also ASB President.

I know that I have started the process of recruiting late, but I want to continue playing competitive volleyball so that I can reach new goals in my life and continue having the drive and passion to excel. Financial assistance is going to be very important to me and my family due to the fact that I have two older siblings going through college as well. I am looking for strong academic schools where I can gain my degree in political science and from there continue into the law field.  I am open to explore schools outside of California and new opportunities. A Christian environment would be ideal, but not required. I want to be involved in a sports program and school where I can make an impact.
