Hi there! My name is Jiayi Shen. I am a student at Lynbrook High school in San Jose, California. I have wished to play college volleyball since I first fell in love with the sport in the summer of sixth grade. Ever since, I have been striving to make myself a better player, whether it was physically or mentally. After I graduate, I hope to be playing competitive volleyball, whether its DI, DII, or DIII. I wish to someday even make it in the Olympics on the U.S women national team. I believe that I am a good candidate for any team because I get along really well with people, especially people with a similar interest as me. I am hard working and will not feel down if I ever get yelled at by coaches because I see that as a motivation and challenge for me to improve as a player . My coaches over the years has always stressed on mental toughness, so on the court or whenever, I am mentally tough. Coaches can put me in during bad times and I will try my hardest to help my team win. In character, I am very optimistic. I have been known to be always smiling and laughing. Not many things or people can get me down because I see laughter as a way to help relieve stress.
