In my first year of Power League, I won 2012 Far Westerns JN Qualifier, the 2012 Regional Championships, earned a Junior Nationals bid to Columbus Ohio, and placed 10th in the 12's National Divison. Those events in 2012 were the most exciting experiences of my life, and I long desired to return to that level of competition. I like that I am competitive and thrive under pressure. I know I improve the strength of the team with my influence of play. In the following years, I did not have the same players I won with, but I worked hard with new teammates to return to the Junior Nationals two more times. In my recent club season as a 16 year old, I played up in 18s and elevated my senior and junior teammates from 27th at the beginning of the season to 7th place in NCVA Regional Championship.
As a freshman, I took the Wallenberg High School varsity team to the playoffs with an undefeated record in Division 2 and moved the team into Division 1 the following year. Remaining in Division 1, our varsity team today finished 3rd. In 2015, I decided to join the Women’s SF Dragons volleyball team and took home 1st place from the 71st Annual NACIVT in New York City. This year we finished runner-up in Anaheim. In 2017, I look forward to returning to the Junior Nationals in Minneapolis, and the 73rd NACIVT in Florida.
Driven by passion, my goal in college is to push myself both athletically and academically so that I can give back to others who also aspire to be. I am a strong leader with a positive attitude. I learn quick and work hard with my teammates and coaches to achieve excellence. I am very competitive, yet I get along with athletes on both sides of the court. At school, I aim to maintain good academics and hope to study medicine related to Kinesiology. I am able to impact my team both in and outside of the court to play stronger and win. I believe that my greatest strengths are support, passion, determination and hard work because these qualities help create an optimistic, positive team player. While I have yet to discover where I will leave my mark in this world, I know that education is the foundation and key to my future.
