I started playing volleyball when I was nine years old and have continued to play on my school teams as setter. I've always been very dedicated to volleyball and my team, even if the sport wasn't volleyball. The past two years I was Co-Captain of my volleyball team and MVP runner up. This year as a freshman, I made my school's JV team. I've always been someone who hustles on the court and cheers on my team no matter the score. I always try to maintain a positive attitude wherever I am.
My first two seasons playing volleyball, my team went almost undefeated both seasons. However after those two seasons, my team went through a rough patch where we almost never won. Although I love winning, those seasons of scoring badly as a team helped me realize that playing volleyball isn't always about the score, but what your attitude is while on the court. I believe that your attitude in life and in sports has a huge impact on who you are and your ability to impact your environment. It taught me a lot about what sportsmanship really means.
I want to succeed in life and a big part of that to me is getting an education. I plan on graduating high school and going on to get a college education. Growing up in a hard working family with five brothers by my side, I've learned that if I really want something, I need to work for it. I know I have the work ethic to play college volleyball and the determination to do well both athletically and academically.
