"I don't want to be better than you or her or him - I want to be better than I am right now." - Kerri Walsh Jennings. That quote is always in my mind whenever I step onto the court, whether it would just be for practice, or before a game. Personally, it's important to always challenge ourselves to become the best version of us, that we can be. We can't always reach the peak of perfection, but we can be a close second to it. Something that truly sets me apart from all the other collegiate volleyball players is my height. I stand at 5'1". However, this allows me the opportunity to react quickly to a ball, or moving my feet really fast, which makes me a good defensive player. My positive attitude also shines on and off the court as well. I remain positive even after I make a mistake, and I don't stay down like other players tend to do. I constantly remind myself to not dwell on a mistake and to focus on winning the next point. Overall, I expect the best from myself and nothing less. I will work to the best of my ability to reach my main goal, which is to be a collegiate volleyball player. I will continue to push myself beyond my limits, and challenge myself daily.
