Coaches, welcome to my recruiting profile! My name is Sofia Ascencio and I am a senior at Holy Names High School in Oakland, California. I am a student athlete - while volleyball is my biggest passion, my education is my highest priority. My main goal (aside from completing applications and making it to graduation in one piece) is to get recruited by a Division III institution as either a setter or defensive specialist. I am hard working, motivated, and versatile. As the captain of my high school and club team, I learned the importance of leadership and how to balance constructive criticism with positive motivation on and off the court. Also, through my dedication to my club volleyball family, I have come to value community and a strong bond amongst my volleyball sisters. Above all, I want to attend a school that not only possesses these values, but expands upon them.
