Kayla Redfield '16 Recruiting Profile

I play both beach volleyball and indoor volleyball. I have over 6 years of experience in both sports. When I am not playing indoor volleyball, I compete all summer with my sand partner up and down the California coast. In fact, we earned our womens AA rating in beach volleyball last summer. I absolutely love the sport of volleyball, indoor and beach, and I want to play as long as I can.

Since the first time I stepped on to the indoor volleyball court, I knew I was meant to be a setter. I enjoy being the "quarterback" of the team, which requires quick and smart decision making abilities, and I get very excited when we get a kill. I am a 6 rotation player and I have many years of experience running a 5-1 offense. I'm aggressive at the net blocking, jousting, and dumping. I can also run a 6-2; My sand volleyball experience has helped me to become a solid defensive player.   

 I value my athletic success and also my academic success. I attend a very academically competitive private high school and maintain a high GPA  with a status of high academic honors. In fact, I am a member of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). I am involved in various community service and church activities and I am currently employed part-time. While attending college, my educational goal is to earn a degree in business administration.

I am passionate about the sport of volleyball and I am looking for an opportunity to play competitive collegiate volleyball at a University where I can continue to improve my skills while making a positive contribution to the team.
