My goal in life is to have a well paying job that is fun and rewarding, to excel in volleyball, college, and ultimately my career. I have a strong desire to help the developmentally disabled reach their highest potential. My inspiration comes from my younger sister who has cerebral palsy and is severely handicapped. I also want to show my native community that natives can go beyond the reservation and that they can achieve their dreams no matter what. Since I was a child, I have helped my dad carry on the customs and traditions of our people, the Cahuilla Indians, by participating in blessings and Bird Dancing and basket weaving. I like to be a positive role model for others including Indian kids in my community, peers at school and teammates on the volleyball court. I was team captain of my High School volleyball team and was awarded All League MVP, All CIF, and All Area. Volleyball is my passion and it's hard to imagine not playing after high school. My dream is to play volleyball while getting an excellent education at a reputable college or university.
