Cassidy Jannson '15 Recruiting Profile

I am passionate about volleyball. I work hard to improve my skills and give 100% to perform better and support my team. I have been playing volleyball since I was 12 years old. I have played varsity at Benicia High School since my freshmen year and have been voted first team all-league every year. This year, as a junior, I was voted Most Valuable Player in the Solano County Athletic Conference and my teammates voted me team captain. While the personal recognition is nice, the team accomplishments are much more important to me. Our high school team has been in the playoffs three years in a row. This year we went 15-0 in league and lost only two sets all year. My club team (Club Solano Velocity) has finished in the top 10 of the NCVA Power League the last five years in a row. We have also earned a bid to the Junior Nationals three out of the last four years.

In addition to indoor volleyball, I have played beach volleyball the last three summers. This past summer in the five tournaments we played in, we finished in the top three in all of them including two tournaments wins. I also play varsity badminton and am currently the number two player for singles and number one for doubles.

While I am not 100% certain what I want my major to be in college, I do know that I want a career that will allow me to serve the community. This could be in health care, teaching, or even law enforcement. Volleyball has taught me how to work on a team, the rewards of hard work, and how to compete under pressure. I hope to use these skills and apply them to whatever career I choose.
