Hi. I am Rosana Hicks. I am a rising 9th grader and have been playing volleyball for the past 3 years as a Middle and Pin Hitter. In this past year, I was a co-captain for my Junior High volleyball team where we had a 17-0 record and were Conference Champions. I play club ball with Ozark Juniors and am currently on the 14-1’s team. I will be playing school ball this coming Fall at Fayetteville High School, as the only Freshman on the varsity team.
I started playing sports because my Mom, Dad, and Aunt played played when they were young, through college, and even got chances for national and professional teams. I really grew up with volleyball and ever since I can remember I’ve always been on a volleyball court. Through volleyball I have learned that you have to be a coachable player, that you have to be smart and take of yourself properly, meaning health wise and in any other sports you do other than volleyball, and, that regardless of your achievements, there is always something new to work on and more to learn.
I am extremely interested in pursuing a major in Performing Arts. I love to read, learn about different places all over the world, keep up with current events, and also have done volunteer phone banking for local campaigns for the Public Library and a Civil Rights ordinance. I am a straight A student and hope to get into some of the top colleges in the U.S. where I can pursue my academic goals and compete at a high level.
Looking forward to opening a line of communication in the near future.
Sincerely,
Rosana
