I am currently an 8th grader at Hartford Memorial Middle School in Vermont. I have been participating in track and field on various teams since first grade. I have always pushed myself to compete at the highest level which is always a goal of mine, academically and athletically. Even though we do not have a track to practice on at our school, I travel to other schools in order to get workouts in. I am dedicated to improving every year and always set personal goals in events at the start of each year. I have continued to improve on my personal best's each year through hard work and determination. Academically I have attained highest honors or honor roll every year in middle school and was asked by my principal to give a speech about my academic team at graduation. I participate in many school activities as well as basketball and field hockey in the other sports seasons. This year was the first that I had to opportunity to participate in indoor track and field with the high school team at their practices and entered several youth indoor events as an independent.
