To paraphrase a movie line in Chariots of Fire…”I feel God’s pleasure when I run”. My life goal is to use my God-given talent to glorify Him. I am motivated, disciplined, and determined to work hard (both in the classroom and on the track) to make it possible for me to get a college education. My effort is a part of how our family needs to accomplish this goal for me. I am the middle child with 8 other siblings.
Reaching my track goals are possible through hard work and the right college and the right coach. This past February (2013) I long jumped 17'8" and during Spring track (June 2013) I jumped 17'7.25 at the New England Championships. I also expect my triple jump (currently over 36 feet) to continue to improve and I LOVE running the 400M (and pain)! My current high school has the limitation of no track and we train on the grass lawn around the soccer field. I suspect when I regularly get onto a college track and runway I will have a good bit of improvement potential.
My goals are to compete in college level track and become the farthest jumper and the fastest runner I can be. You will find I am teachable, tireless, and a quick natural learner. I love track and hope to participate in the sport all four years of college.
