I have started my 7th year running summer track. I was able to run a 4:57 in the 1500m during my second year of running AAU Summer Track at National Qualifiers.. I was 6th overall in the AAU Junior Olympics 2012, I ran with one shoe on for 1200m. I was able to qualify for National JO's USATF in the 1500m. I was 13th overall for the 800m in the AAU Junior Olympics 2013. It was the best finish for the 800m in my four years of summer track. All-American freshmen year 4x800
I have set goals for myself - I want to make varsity in cross country and track for all four years. I have completed 2.5 years of varsity so far.
(2012- 2013: CC) I placed 2nd individually at Cross Country Districts and 23rd for Region III for 4A school. I was able to contribute to Dawson's best Cross Country results in their history, winning District Championship and placing 7th in the team ranks at Region III 4-A.
(2013 - 2014: CC) I have made varsity cross country for the 2nd year. I am continuing to improve on my times. I have reduced my 2 mile time this year by 32 seconds from the previous year. Contributed to Dawson 2nd place finish at District 24 4-A, allowing Dawson CC to qualify for Regional meet.
(2012 - 2013: Track) I made varsity track my freshman year. I qualified for the 800m in regionals and also participated in the 4 x 400m. I was able to travel with Dawson HS to the Texas Relays. I was able to contribute to Dawson HS District win for the 7th straight year.
(2013 - 2014: Track) I have made the varsity track for the 2nd year. District Champion for the 800m and qualified for Regional Track meet. I completed at regional improve my placement up to 8th overall. Finished 4th overall in the 1600m which also contributed to Dawson HS District championship for 8th straight year. Also ran 3rd leg of the 4x400m relay team with best time of the year of 3.57 which is ranked 1st in regional qualifiers.
(2014 - 2015: CC) I have made varsity cross country for the 3rd year. I am continuing to improve on my times. I have reduced my 2 mile time this year by 1 minute and 10 seconds from the previous year. District 22 - 6A Champions, placed 13th / 198, Time: 20:44.04.
(2014 - 2015: Track) I have made the varsity track for the 3rd year. Qualified for Regional Meet in the 4x400m, this contributed to Dawson HS District championship for 9th straight year. Qualifying time of 3:57, split time was :58
(2015 - 2016: CC) 4th year as a varsity runner, selected as Captain of the Varsity Team. Qualified for Regional meet as a result of District Team Champions for the second year in a row. I averaged a 20:50 for my 5K run. Half way through the season it was determine I was running on a broken toe (Big Toe). Due to the fact that there was nothing could be done, I just kept on running. The best time of the season was at District with a time of 20:47.95.
I love running several distances on the track - 800m, 1500m, 1600m and I like to contribute to a 4 x 400m, 4x800m relays.
I want to continue running in college. I want to gather strength and speed to try to make the National Qualifiers for 2016 Olympic trails!
