Lindsay Lord '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Lindsay Lord and I am currently a senior at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary High School located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. I am a free spirited individual who is always looking to learn, have fun and most importantly make memories along the way. Every year I complete community service hours around my community and school by helping out at sporting events and volunteering for school functions. I am easy to get along with and am accepting of new ideas, ways and people. My passion in life is helping others overcome personal struggles and help them realize that they are here for a reason. With this said I plan to attend college and graduate with a Masters in Social Work.

In my school I was not given the opportunity to join the Track and Field team until 9th grade. However, when I was given the opportunity to run, I couldn't have been more excited to finally participate in a sport I have been dreaming about. Unsure which event I wished to pursue, an upperclassman on the team showed me how to hurdle and from that moment on I fell in love. For the past three years I have gained three varsity letters, participated and placed in invitational, league, district and state meets. As a junior I broke my schools record in long jump, placed 6th at leagues in the 300 meter int. hurdles,  placed 2nd in Leagues, 3rd in districts and made it to the PIAA Track and Field State Championship this past year for the 100 meter high hurdles. As a senior, it is my goal to beat my school record this year in the 100 meter high hurdles! It is truly a dream of mine to continue my Track and Field career at the college level.
