I started participating in track my freshman year of high school. Each year I compete I get better and better and my goals and dreams of being a collegiate athlete are becoming a reality. I work very hard for my team and for myself as well. This past track season was my best so far because i broke my PR and our 15 year old school record for the 200m dash. The last two years i have received the KSAC 2nd team all conference award for the 200m and 100m dash. I also worked hard inside the classroom and never let my sports get in the way of my academics, I was able to raise my GPA to a 3.5 this year as well and i will be joining the National Honors Society because of my hard work and dedication. I am also involved in cheer leading and gymnastics to help keep me in shape for my track season since we do not have an indoor track team. I help a lot with the youth programs and work with children of all ages and I enjoy encouraging the younger generations to do what they love to do.
I would make a good candidate for a college team because of my positive attitude and my dedication to my team and myself. I work hard to achieve the goals i set and to better myself along the way. I always build people up and give encouragement even when I'm on the track and competing against them. I feel that it is necessary to always be positive and have a good attitude. Track will help me with my career goals because I am bettering myself and helping others with what they love as well.
