Courtney Keefer '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Courtney Keefer and I am a senior at Lower Dauphin High School. I am 5' and weigh 115lbs. I run winter track, and spring track. I also play fall field hockey, indoor field hockey, and participate on the East Coast Field Hockey Club team. Summer 2011 was my first year of participating in AAU track & field. I have been running track since 7th grade and have been playing field hockey since 8th grade. I was part of the 2010 & 2011 Keystone Division Championship Track Team. I made Mid-Penn Conference Championships my freshman, sophomore and junior years in the 100m and 200m dash. We also qualified for the 4x100m relay all three years, and placed 8th in 2010 &2011 District III Championships.  I qualified for the District II Championships in the 100m dash (sophomore & junior years) and the 200m dash (junior year) finishing 7th. I then went on to qualify for the PIAA State Championships in the 200m dash as a junior. I have competed in all indoor invitationals that my school has participated in, including the Kevin Dare Invitational at PSU my freshman and sophomore and junior years. My 4x100m relay team broke the 1994 school record in 2010 with a time of 50.45 FAT time then broke the record again the following year with a time of 50.2.  In 2011 my 4x400m relay team also set a schools record with a time of 4:09.7. I've been the anchor of the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams since freshman year. I was asked to be the sprint team captain for the 2010-2011 indoor track season. I earned my varsity letter as a freshman, sophomore & junior. I have a strong competitive drive and a deep desire to compete in track at the collegiate level. I have also been told that I am very coachable by both my track coach and field hockey coach. I have not fully decided what college or location I would like to attend and am still determining the best fit for my academics and athletics. I plan to major in Forensics, but have not determined the specific branch. My goal as an athlete is to compete at the varsity level throughout my college career, and bring my drive, determination, and competitiveness to the team.
