My name is Kayla White and I've been participating in distance running since 7th grade track. I have made varsity since my freshman year of high school. I started my freshman year running 25:19 and my current personal record is 19:46, but my goal for this year is to be sub 19's for a 5k. My sophomore year I was number one runner for my team and went to states- medaling 21st. For my junior year I placed 2nd at counties, and then ended up with Costocondritis for districts and states. I actually couldn't walk the course the night before districts, but I knew I had to make states. I was also one of the team captains this year. I have gone through my running career with the belief that running is a lifestyle, and I believe I live up to that. Running, for me, is amazing. There is so much you can do to become better. That's one of the benefits of running, you get out of it what you put in it. I also believe the that running has made me stronger both mentally and physically.
