My name is Ashley Reed and I am a seventeen year old, senior at Easton Area High School in Easton, PA. My passions in life are my education, political advocacy, and track and field. My three passions are reflected in several facets of my life; from my: heavy, AP course load, to my Presidency in the Easton Area High School Chapter of the NAACP, to my three year dedication as a Varsity sprinter/mid- distance runner for Easton.
I am a four-year member of the Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field team, and most recently, I qualified and competed in leagues and districts for the second year in a row. After qualifying for districts, I ran a personal best there, with a time of 58.5 in the 400 M, coming in second overall and qualifying for the State Championships at Shippensburg May 23rd and 24th. I am also a state qualifier in the 4x4 and 4x8 relays. I am a four time letter winner and have been nominated for Girls Scholar Athlete 2014 by the Lehigh Valley Conference.
My goals include preparing for states with the plan being to run sub 57 in the 400 and to improve my split 800M time in the relay from 2:22 to 2:20 in order to help my team in this aspect at States as well.
