My name is Madison Depner. I am currently a 5'4" 113 lb. Senior at Trinity High School in Camp Hill, PA. I have been pole vaulting for 2 years. My first competitive jump was 8' and now my PR is 11'3". I love the sport and my coach has me practicing with the bungee set at 12', which I am continually striving for. I became interested in pole vaulting after I ended my 10 years of gymnastics competition. I really feel that gymnastics has helped me with my pole vaulting, as I had such intense strength training workouts, so I value the benefit of being the strongest I can possibly be. I have no fear of jumping high after performing routines on the high bar for gymnastics. I am very driven because I know that hard work pays off, in 2 years, I added 3 feet to my jump. This year it is my goal to focus more strictly on pole vaulting, and to nail the 12' mark. I hope to attend a college where my vaulting would help benefit your team. I would like to attend college on the east coast but if something else wonderful comes along, I will consider going anywhere. I am undecided with my major but Meteorology and Homeland Security both interest me. I am looking for a school that has a competitive athletics program that I could contribute to, and most importantly a school that has a good academic reputation.
