I am Madi Greenleaf and attend Lakeridge High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon. I started running track in seventh grade, but have only run hurdles for two years. This year at the OSAA state meet I placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles and 3rd in the 100 hurdles. My 4x400 relay team earned 4th at the state meet. I ran at the Golden West Invitational (GWI) in Folsom, California and placed 3rd in the 300m hurdles. In June of 2012, I participated in the Junior Olympics State meet running the 400 hurdles for the first time in 64.33a and winning the event. Over the summer I began a strength training program 3-4 times per week which should help my speed and form in the 100 and 300 hurdles this year. I may be interested in becoming a heptathlete in college so I will also begin high jump and javelin training in the fall. My goal for my senior year is to compete in high jump, 100hh, 300h and the 4x400 in the outdoor season. Because I have only been hurdling for two years, I believe that I have barely touched my long-term potential. I look forward to running and improving in college with a coach who can challenge and teach me at the next level of competition.
NOTE: In the recruiting video for the first race shown I am not the runner in the white on the outside but am the runner on the far inside in the black.
