Academics and athletics have always been a major strongpoint and focus in my life. My strong-willed and determined personality has always pushed me towards greatness in both factors. I started getting involved in athletics at 2 years old, as a gymnast. I continued training and competing for 11 years, 36 hours a week, 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. I had to quit because of a serious wrist injury. Quitting something I had done all of my life and committed so much time to was one of the hardest and most confusing things I had ever done. But putting my faith in God and his plan, lead me to try the track team. It was love at first run. I immediately knew the track was where I belong. Ever since then, my love of track has only grown stronger. The team environment, the intensity of the meets, the challenge of practices, everything. Every race I run like it's my last. I feel that my love of track and its hardships would be a great contribution to any team. Also, having serious academic focuses and goals in college would keep my ambitions in check. I dream big, I work hard, and I love track.
