I aspire to be part of a growing and tight-knit collegiate track program where I can make a difference by both scoring points for the team and by being a team leader. I have so much team and school spirit! I plan to combine college athletics and my love of medicine; I will major in human biology in preparation for medical school where I will study to be a pediatric orthopedic physician. My ultimate goal is to help physically challenged children through orthopedic medicine.
My track history is very recent, as I ran track for the first time in the Spring of 8th grade. I did not run my freshman year in high school due to a shin stress fracture. I began working with Coach William Johnson the summer after freshman year and continue to train with him currently. I dropped 8 seconds in the 400M in one season (Outdoor 2012) after perfecting my natural talent and becoming stronger physically and mentally. I feel that I have much more growth potential and would be a great asset to a college track team.
I practiced with my team all spring, but took most of the season’s meets off to focus and prepare for college admissions tests. You may have also heard that our team won the Ohio state D1 track meet! We are very excited! I continue to train very hard with Coach William to prepare for competition in several meets this summer, and look forward to competing with my team next winter and spring.
