I am finishing up my junior year at Magnificat High School in Rocky River, Ohio. Magnificat is the largest all girls private school in the State of Ohio. As a freshman, I earned three varsity letters in soccer, basketball and track, starting every game in soccer, playing in every game in basketball and having the fastest times in the 100 (12.74), 200 (26.34) and 400 (58.51) on the track and field team. As a sophomore, I continued to play three varsity sports - I was one of the top scorers on the varsity soccer team that made the Ohio Division 1 State Semi-Finals, I started every varsity basketball game (winning the best defensive player award), and winning the most valuable distance runner on the track team. In track, last year I began focusing on the 800 meters around half way through the year. My first timed 800 was a 2:19. Beginning my junior year, I decided to focus strictly on track. I started with cross country, but got injured and could not run the rest of the cross country season. In November, I started training for indoor soccer. I qualified for the state indoor meet in the 800 and 400, and our 4x400 team also qualified. I opted to run the 400 at the indoor meet and came in fifth. I was disappointed because I had the second fastest time in the State going into the meet. My spring season has been going well. I have moved my 800 time down to a 2:16, and my 400 time down to 57.52. As the season goes on, I hope to substantially reduce both of these times . My goal is to run track at a top Division 1 college program. I truly believe as my times get better, I can accomplish this goal.
