Personal Statement

I would like to run Cross Country and Track at the college DI or DII level. The biggest advantage I think I have over many high school runners entering college is that I have to be mentally tough every day because my team is very competitive; we have made it to State the past twelve years. Because of this, I have to work for my varsity spot every day, so it won't take much adjustment for me to get used to the competition of the runners at college. I am very motivated and don't quit easily. One thing that motivates me is that I hate to think that I have disappointed my teammates. I have played seven different sports during my lifetime so I have a natural athleticism. I am also able to manage my time and keep good grades, as I have never gotten below a B- on a report card. I would like to major in Early Childhood Education so that I can teach younger kids in all subjects.
