Winning NCHSAA 3A Regionals was the highlight of my freshmen XC season this year. I believe that my succcess this season was due in large part to the fact that I learned taking care of my body is just as important as running itself. I was able to add all the extra miles that came with the transition to high school and remain strong and injury free.
By focusing on strength training , flexibility and nutrition I became a better runner. Due to my commitment I ended my season by peaking at states and earning third place and my personal record of 18:18 for the season. I'm looking forward to a successful winter and spring track season in 2018.
