Competing in the 2017 USATF Hershey National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships was the highlight of my club track career. However, my passion for track and field is not what it used to be. Having two track parents, as a little girl, I was put in a long-distance program. The problem was that any event over a lap, I dreaded--including the 400m, which ironically turns out to be my specialty. Joining Charlotte Flights as a 14-year-old sparked my interest in track as I learned about what it takes to be an effective sprinter, jumper, and hurdler. I grew the most as a student-athlete my freshman year when I didn’t do as well as expected in States. That experience helped me grow to realize how competitive the track world is and led me to re-focusing my efforts on becoming a strong athlete.
I was fortunate enough to be part of Charlotte Flights and Providence Track as they have led me to break records and continue to improve. I'm looking forward to representing whatever school that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, determination, and leadership skills to make a prominent impact on your program. I aspire to accomplish my goals by continuing to aim high and improve whether it’s on the track or in the classroom!
