The moment I crossed the finish line of my first cross country race, I knew I was in love. Since that moment, I realized I wanted more out of running than a few handshakes and a "good job" from coach. I wanted to begin placing top ten on my team, to be on the varsity team. And out of sheer hard work and determination, I did it. Being honored with the "Blue Gold Award" as a first year participant on Section V's back to back Sectional Champions team as a runner that truly portrays what cross country is all about, gave me the inspiration to keep pushing. What will set me apart in the rest of my running career is my attitude; I will never settle with my performance as long as there's room for improvement. And until I've become the absolute best that I can be, I will work hard every day to achieve that goal.
