Tatiana Betances '11 Recruiting Profile

Hello, My name is Tatiana and what does it take to be me? Practice! Ive been a athlete all my life. For 8 years I played CYO, AAU and PSAL Basketball. Basketball was my first love but now Track and field is my Pride and Joy. I picked it up my freshman year in H.S thinking it would just keep me in shape but I was totally wrong. The first moment I threw the Shot and Discus, I knew this was the start of something amazing. I believe in hard work and that it can either make you or break you. Ive been made in to something far more than I was excepted, love what it has done for me and now what it can do for my future. This pass summer I went to Australia to compete in the Trans-Pacific Cup for Track and Field with this program called 356 sports. It was the most amazing life changing experience I've ever had. Being able to travel the world and compete, doing what you love to do!? Being there made me realize that this was the life I wanted to live. The life of a Champion. Coming in 2nd place wasn't the worst but I set very high standards for myself. My Coach Sharonda Arnold open my eyes to even though the place I came in wasnt what I wanted but that worked too hard to cry over. Other than going to Aussie, my other accoomplishments were being in the top of my boro since freshman year, placing first @ The Day of the Weights. That's a very big Throws meet in NYC. Also Placing 4th in Mayor's Cup and 7th in Cities. This year Im working harder to make States. As being a team player of many sports I have always offer leadship, a helping hand and motivation. My opitons are open for where I want to pursue my college career at but I am very passionate about my events and hope to excel in them to the highest of my abilities in collegiate track.
