Personal Statement

I am a 5' 5" female runner in my junior year of high school and reside in Garden City, New York. This is my 5th year on the Garden City High School Varsity Cross Country/Track and Field Team. This Fall season I was honored to receive All-Conference, All-County, and placed 26th in the NY States Class B Championship race. I have a 92 weighted average and I am on the Honor Roll. This cross country season I was given the Sportsmanship Award at the NY State Championship for Section 8 Class B. Ideally I would like to be at a Division I or II school. I am interested in all schools around the country that can provide me with an excellent education, although I have a desire to attend an institution with a notable cross country/track and field team. Ever since I can remember my dream has been to run at an elite college/university with the best distance runners. I was named the Girls Varsity Cross Country Scholar Athlete as an eigth, ninth, tenth, and now an eleventh grader. I was also named the Varsity Girls Cross Country Most Outstanding Runner as a freshman and sophomore for Garden City High School.  I was on the 4 x 800M #2 nationally ranked relay team earning "All American Honors". In the 2013 Indoor Winter Track season I received the "Charles White Award" for dedication and excellence.  My academic interests are in the allied health sciences field because of my strong belief in helping others improve on their well being. My academic goal this year is to maintain an unweighted average of 92.  I am taking two AP courses in Biology and English to further strengthen my academic skills.   Athletically, this cross country season I shaves 10 seconds off my 4K time and ran my fastest 5K of the season in 18:48 For the winter season I hope to better my mile and 2 mile time by 10 seconds. In the upcoming spring of 2013-2014 my main focus will be the steeplechase, but I also plan on setting PR's in the mile, 3000m., and 800 meters. This year I hope to go beyond my goals and have another successful year in both athletics and academics.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
