Danielle Martin '11 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Danielle Martin. I am a senior at Freeport Highschool and have been running track and field since my sophomore year. Within this short time period I have accomplished many goals. For example, my first year running track I was nominated team captain and awarded MVP. I Was also successful in being all conference and all county in the 200 meter dash, with a pr of (25.92)as well as ending my season with a 400 time of (60.40).My second year running I was determined to run better,harder,breaking the barriers previously set and pushing my body to levels I never had. I told myself, practice is what you make it, take every workout to the next level. As I shared this attitude with my fellow teammates,we became successful in making it to state qualifiers in the 4x1 relay with a time of (49.1). My hard work paid off bringing my 400 time down to a (56.5)awarding me 400 meter county champion as well as ending my season with a 200 meter pr of(25.00). You see this passion and desire I have in me is what makes me a prime athlete for your school.The location of the school is not my main focus, but a school that will continue to challenge me to the highest level in my track and academic career is what i search for. I feel a D1 school will be capable in fulfilling this challenge I desire. Division 1 is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. I am prepared to break the barriers and take my athleticism beyond ones imagination. I bring a positive attitude, hard work, leadership and determination to the team: encouraging progress every step of the way.With my mother and two brothers currently in college, my family is not financially stable to correspond with the expense of such a school, making it very difficult to attain these goals. I can assure you that as a member of your team excellence will be achieved. As i got into this winter season i go with a new set of challenges and goals, that i will acheive.
