Personal Statement

I hope to achieve many goals in my athletics before my high school career is over. My biggest goal for my last season of high school cross country is to win the DII state meet. I also want to come in 1st or 2nd at the NH Meet of Champions, and I hope to break 18:30 along the way. I aspire to place in the top 10 at the New England Championships, and to have my team advance to that meet with me. In winter track, I want my 4x800 team to win states again, and to come in the top 10 in New Englands. I would also like to go to New Englands for the 1500 meter race, and I want to come in the top ten at the Dartmouth Relays in the 1500 as well. For the spring track season, my goal is to come in the top ten in the 1600 meter race at New Englands, hopefully breaking 5:00 along the way. I want to cut my 3200 meter time down to under 11:10, and I would like to advance to Nationals for both that race and the 1600 meters.

After high school, I want to run at the collegiate level, and I would like to eventually break 18:00 for a 5K. I want to make it to NCAA XC Nationals by my senior year of college. I would like to break 10:30 in the 3200 meter race, and 4:50 in the 1600 meter. Ultimately, I want to run on the varsity team for all four years of college, and I hope to contribute to my team as much as possible.

Academics are also very important to me, and I would like my college to be academically prestigious as well as athletically strong. I hope to pursue some form of psychology, cognitive science, or neuroscience, so I want my school to have a strong science department. I want my school to be known for its scientific prowess, and I want to get the most out of both my education and my athletics. I would eventually like to have a job as a forensic psychologist or a personality profiler, and I hope that the college I attend can help me successfully obtain a career.

I aspire to accomplish all that I can before I start "real life", and I hope that whatever college I choose can help me to fulfill all of my dreams.
