The only sport I love competing in as much as shot-put is volleyball. I hope to find a college that will allow me to participate in both sports while pursuing a degree.
I am a country girl who has been raised with traditional values. Only character is valued more than education, athletics, and service in my home. I have been taught that, in every decision or direction in life, character guides the way. I know this may sound old-fashioned to some, but I believe it is a truism in all facets of life.
My future college coach will not only discover my honesty, loyalty and integrity, but also that I am hard working, driven and competitive as well. I made the decision over two years ago, at my parochial middle school, that I wanted to play at the college level. I then drastically changed my lifestyle, to include diet, and began to develop my skills in academics and general athletic ability. Since then, my weight went from 195 lbs. to 150 lbs. and I have been 3 times selected to participate at the LSAM Middle School State Track Meet. Most recently, as a freshman, I have advanced to the 2017 High School Shot Put Regional Qualifier. Additionally, I have improved from a solid "B" student to an Academic Honor Roll student. The college team I play for will value the traits I bring, as well as player development and success on and off the field.
