My dreams, goals, and aspirations are to graduate from high school and pole vault at a division I or II college or university. My goals for senior year are to attend practices and camps leading up to the high school 2014 track season to improve my technique and personal record. I would like to be vaulting 11'6" by the end of the 2014 track season. Before pole vaulting I was a gymnast for ten years competing at a state and regional level and was the level 8 state vaulting champ of 2012. My sophomore year I joined the track team and pole vaulted a few times and loved it. I continued with track my junior year and improved my personal record by two feet, jumping 10'6", and tied the school record. My gymnastics background has been incredibly helpful, giving me the physical as well as mental strength necessary for pole vaulting. Given the right coaching and training along with my dedication to put in the time and effort I could be a great addition to a collegiate track team.
