My name is Kendell Jefferson and I have devoted my future to running track in college. I run the 100m, 200m, and participate as the anchor for the 400m relay, and 800m relay. I've always had a passion for running and I make it a priority to get better as the years pass. I come from a background of two parents that ran track in high school, so I have a support system that knows what's best for my body and skills, and works with me as I continue my journey. I've been faced with many obstacles in the past two years of running track for Wyoming High School. Transitioning from basketball, I would have to recover from ankle injuries, but that never stopped me or my drive to be successful. I made it a priority to take care of my body non-stop to get back to full recovery. But, I never sat on the sidelines to watch my team do all the work. I worked with my coaches, I assisted anyone that needed my help, and I certainly was there to cheer everyone on. Being apart of a team is like being apart of a family. I never leave them hanging.
Keeping my mind fixed on what's best for my future is what drives me everyday to excel and succeed in many parts of my life such as Academics, Athletics, Ethics, etc. I have no specific path on what I want to do with my life, but I know I want to go above and beyond what others expect me to. I want my journies to impact others and keep their minds fixed on the BEST. To me, the best isn't being the fastest on the team, or the smartest in the class. The best is going to my fullest potential and knowing that whatever I accomplished, I accomplished it by giving my all.
Academically, my goal is to continue to excel in my classes and to make the right decision on where to go to college and study Criminal Justice. I plan to become a federal agent in whatever department suits me best. I want to maintain a 3.85 GPA or higher throughout high school and continue to be involved with the many opportunities my school has to offer. Athletically, I want to run for a college/university and continue to get better in track. I also want to work on making my PR more consistant and better. Everyday is a new day, and I'm going to use every minute to push myself to get better and faster.
Thank you for your time in viewing my profile and reading my statement. I wish to build a bond and hear from you!
