I am a Freshman at Marshfield (MA) High School. I competed in a few JV meets but finished my Cross Country season in Varsity. Before entering high school, I competed in Middle School Cross Country and Track and Field. In my three years at Furnace Brook Middle School, I accomplished the following
· Qualified for Cross Country States
· Qualified for Outdoor States, finishing 10th (400m) and 6th (4X400m) last year.
· Finished as the South Shore Middle School League 400m Champion and runner up in the 4 X 400m (running anchor)
In my Freshman year in high school,
* I ran the Frank Kelly Invitational 3K Freshman/Sophomore race and finished 15th and medaled. (6th fastest Freshman in that race)
* I ran the Bob McIntyre Twilight Meet JV 5K race and finished 30th. (5th fastest Freshman)
* I am the 2017 Atlantic Coast League JV XC Champion
* I ran the Frank Mooney Coaches Invitational 3K Freshman race and finished 18th and medaled.
* Ran at the MIAA Division 2 State Meet, finished 5th for my team and 10th as a team (we were 4 freshman, 2 sophomores and 1 junior)
Besides competing in track and school, I compete in Irish Step dancing and have danced for 10 years. I take classes twice a week as my cross training. It is a very physical sport and highly competitive. Every year I compete at the New England Oireachtas (Regionals) where I came in second in the Traditional set U13 category last year and finished 3rd in the Traditional set U14 this year.
During the school year, I am extremely busy. I have challenged myself academically with 3 honors classes.
I have trained over the summers at Shea Training Systems where I work on strength and conditioning 2-3 times a week.
I feel that I would make a good candidate for a collegiate track team because I am hard working, competitive and respectful of authority. I am the youngest of three and would like to follow in the footsteps of my sister, Marina, who is currently running at College of the Holy Cross competing in Division 1 and my brother, Ryan, who's currently a senior and throws the Javelin. My goals for my remaining high school years include setting a school record (possibly breaking my sister's 800m record of 2:13.66), qualifying for States, All States, and New England Championships. I would also like to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals, New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Nationals, while maintaining an Honors level GPA.
