Chia Okoro '17 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to compete in a collegiate level in track and field. This has always been my goal since grade school. My goals also include studying to be a dental hygienist one day. I feel I'm a great candidate for a team because I'm a hard worker. You can have all the talent or skill in the world, but if you don't work on your skill to be better, you won't achieve anything. I'm a believer in working hard to accomplish your goal no matter the obstacles. One example of this is my sophomore year, I tore my acl in my left knee that ended my sport seasons for that year. There were two choices to choose from: I could of gave up and quit sports or I could work hard, and be better than before. I chose the latter and as a result, I'm a better person than before. This also applies in academics as well because I also work hard in school to achieve my goals in the near future. I'm inspired to do great things later on in life because I believe I can.
