I have been running competitively since I was in middle school. I enjoy the competition and the teamwork. As I continued to take on new distances and relays and lower my PRs, I realized that running in college was within my reach. I know that participating in collegiate sports is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my whole life.
I am a multi-sport athlete who competes at a very high level and a state champion in both track and softball. I have a strong competitive drive and train hard year-round. I am a team leader who is always positive and encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and one of the hardest working runners on the team. I think my work ethic sets me apart from the normal runner because multiple coaches have mentioned how hard I work.
In the classroom, I take challenging courses and maintain one of the highest GPAs in my 600+ graduating class. I am involved in choir and also mentor middle school show choirs and an 8U softball team while volunteering at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Meals from the Heartland and Waukee Community Closet.
I want to attend a college where I can get a degree that will benefit my future career while also pushing myself on the track. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
