Danielle Rowand '12 Recruiting Profile

I'm a senior from Quincy Senior High School. I love pole-vaulting and would be very grateful for an opportunity to compete in college. My sophmore year I was 3rd in our conference. I am 5'6" and 130 pounds. Even though many people see track as an individual sport I still understand the importance of being a team player and making sacrifices for the team.  I would like to major in something having to do with business (possibly international business) but for now I am not positive what I would like to major in. I would like to have a positive impact in the lives of others and be the best that I can be at pole-vault. I know I have not yet reached my full potential in pole-vault and cannot wait to see what I will do this season and in possible future college seasons. I am open to schools of almost any size or division depending on what the school has to offer academically, athletically, and what overall experience the school has to offer. I am open to going to school anywhere in the country. I received the award for the most improved player last year. My goal for pole-vault this year is to improve at least two feet. My speed and form have improved a lot from last season so I know that this is a realistic goal. I was a gymnast for 10 years. I would like to become a college athlete so that I can be the best pole-vaulter that I can be.
