I started running track when I was in the 7th grade, it was the most exciting thing I was looking forward to when I got into junior high school. My father's sisters were stellar track and field athletes, this had always stuck with me and made me want to run whenever I could. Running track takes a significant amount of discipline when you are a student athlete. Going into my junior year I have had an average 3.85 GPA (at this time i am obtaining a 4.0 with an AP class [on a 5.0 scale]), a practice score of a 23 on my ACT and I have run varsity track for Oswego High School since my freshmen year. Along with obtaining a good GPA and running track, I am also a member of the National Social Studies Honor Society (Rho Kappa) at my high school. My freshmen year, I was the first alternate for the state qualifying 4x1 and 4x2 varsity sprint relays. The summer of 2016 I ran for Aurora Pacesetters II. On this club team with Coach Chris Simon I was able to drop my 400 sprint individual time to a 1:03.2, my 400 relay split time dropped to 1:01.6, and this split helped my team qualify for the Junior Olympic Nationals (USATF) with a relay time of 4:01.5. At our USATF Junior Olympic regional meet at Ball State University we placed 2nd overall. I am determined to continue on as a collegiate student-athlete and I am willing to push myself hard enough to be the best I can be.
