Personal Statement

This past outdoor track season I accomplished one of my goals by qualifying for Illinois Class 2A state meet competition in the 800 meter run. In the process I set a PR of 2:23.34. This past summer in preparation for the 2013 XC season, I ran over 350 miles while also leading our high school team in morning XC workouts, attended summer basketball conditioning and ran several local races.

For the 2013 cross country season I am the girls varsity team captain and expect to lead my team to win our school conference (Mississippi Valley Conference), Madison County (IL) championship and qualify for the 2A state meet. I aspire to finish as an All State runner (top 25 finisher). In 2014 I expect to improve on my 800, 1600 and 3200 meter times, qualifying again for state meet competition.

Academically I am focused on maintaining my top 10 class ranking while taking AP Calculus, Chemistry and Economics my senior year. Additionally my senior curriculum will include college level Spanish and Composition classes.

After high school I want to contribute to team success by running competively at the college level. I have a strong interest in biology, chemistry and medicine.
