Stephanie Stahl '12 Recruiting Profile

As an athlete and a student, I am extremely competetive. I set goals for myself and do not stop until they are completed. This is my fourth year as a track athlete and I wish to continue my career as a hurdler. Becoming a college athlete I understand is difficult, but I willingly accept this challenge. As a senior, I am currently 125 pounds at 5'5". Both academics and athletics are extremely important to me and both my teachers and coaches recognize this, my coaches especially by awarding me the girls' team MVP both my sophmore and junior year. And thanks to my dedication, I will be the team captain this year. By qualifying to run the 100 meter hurdles down state for division 2A, it was a whole new experience to me and I was able to understand how tough college competition will be. I wish to find a school where I will be able to practice more to improve myself and have the chance to compete as a freshman. The type of college I hope to attend would be located somewhere in the Mid-West, but the size does not matter to me. Realistically, I am open to any type of division level school, but academic prestige is important to me. I have worked incredibly hard all through high school and my goal is to continue to be challenged so I can become one of the best in my field of study. My preferred field of study at the moment is to major in History, and potentially minor in secondary education. But recently, I have developed an interest in educating and aiding those with emotional disorders. I hope to find a college that can offer me a chance at a high level of education as well as offering me a chance to continue my passion with running.
