Personal Statement

After a very successful junior year I am determined to push to new heights. Offseason/pre-fall work has included conditioning, strength, agility drills, tumbling [keeping up my gymnastics background] and study of pole vault techniques and training. I have moved on from competitive dance [a hard decision] to concentrate on track/pole vault. I initiated an inventory of all of my high school’s pole vault poles and made a spreadsheet containing information on all of the boys and girls poles, including brand, height, weight, flex number and condition, which I supplied to my high school coach, so all of us can plan for the upcoming season. I helped my club, Flying Dragons, expand and reconfigure its space, and worked on its fundraiser. I continue as a varsity cheerleader for both football and basketball. In school, I am working hard in school to keep a high GPA while taking AP courses. Academics are of key importance along with track. My intent is to major in pre-med, with the career goal of being a surgeon. I am determined to reach the goals to which I set my mind. I am a very motivated and competitive person, so I work to be the best I can be, while recognizing the importance of being a good teammate. I love to support and cheer on my team along with showing respect to my coaches. My family has been there every step of the way, whether it's athletics or life in general. They have made the biggest impact in my life, and I would not be where I am today without all of their love and support.
