I have been running track since I was 12 years old and have aspired to run at the collegiate level ever since. I know that participating in collegiate sports is a once in a lifetime opportunity that can change my whole life. I have also played volleyball, basketball, softball, and ran cross country. However, I grew a love and passion for the sport of track and field, which is why I've focused more on the sport than the other ones that I've played.
I have improved tremendously on the track from when I first began. My starts and running technique have gotten faster and more precise, but there is always room for improvement. I have seen significant progress with my events and I continue to strive to get better. By attending the UCLA and UH track camps, I have gained more knowledge on how to better my performance in track and field. I believe that my determination and hard work can get me to the next level of playing field. I am a great team leader and role model for my teammates and others. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working runners and one of the hardest working recruits you’ll find.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I was enrolled in an AP class my sophomore year, but now I am enrolled in full IB classes as a junior. The IB program is very rigorous and is equivalent to college level classes. Being in this program and participating in sports has helped me to better manage my time and priorities. I volunteer as much as I can, usually through school functions. I have a background in student government, acting as a representative for my school. I have experience with emceeing big school events and conducting school tours. School is my number one priority because I am a student before I am an athlete. I want to attend a college where I can further my education and excel on the track. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. My goal is to major in sports medicine and become a sports medicine doctor.
